YA Thriller
See How They Lie
by Sue Wallman
Fast-Paced and Gripping, But Missing That Extra Punch
See How They Lie by Sue Wallman definitely pulled me in right from the start. The pacing is fast, the tension is constant, and the mystery kept me turning the pages late into the night. I was on the edge of my seat, needing to know what was really going on behind the walls of that “perfect” facility.
There’s no doubt it’s an engaging read — suspenseful and unsettling in all the right ways. The twists kept coming, and I genuinely enjoyed piecing everything together.
That said, while the plot kept me hooked, I found myself wanting just a bit more depth, in both the characters and the emotional payoff. It had so much potential to go deeper, but some parts felt a little rushed or surface-level.
Overall, a solid and entertaining YA thriller that’s worth a read if you enjoy fast-moving suspense. Just don’t expect it to linger with you too long after the last page.
