Breathtaking. Honest. Powerful.

Colleen Hoover did something truly special with this series. She handled deeply sensitive topics; love, trauma, abuse, and healing with such raw realism and emotional depth. It stayed with me long after I turned the last page.

Reading It Ends With Us felt like being inside someone’s heart—messy, vulnerable, resilient. The way Hoover portrayed difficult relationships without romanticizing them, and showed the strength it takes to break a cycle instead of staying in one, was nothing short of brave.

I devoured these books with a lump in my throat and tears more than once. Lily’s journey was painful, inspiring, and incredibly human.

That said, I didn’t find the movie adaptation nearly as impactful. It missed a lot of the emotional nuance that made the books unforgettable. The power of this story is in the quiet moments, the internal battles and I just don’t think the screen fully captured that.

Still, this series remains a favorite and one I’ll always recommend, with a box of tissues.
