Book three swaps yearning for friction. Josh Chen and Jules Ambrose have hated each other for years, and the friends-with-benefits bargain they strike is exactly as bad an idea as it sounds. The banter is sharp and the chemistry is combustible.

## What works

- The hate is earned; these two genuinely get under each other's skin.
- Jules' storyline is darker and messier than the earlier heroines', and it gives the book weight.
- Josh's arrogance is punctured properly rather than excused.

This is the spiciest of the four and the most volatile. Content notes for a stalker/abuse thread in Jules' backstory.

## Who I'd hand it to

Enemies-to-lovers readers who want the fighting to matter, not just fill pages before the kiss.
