Fast-Paced and Gripping, But Missing That Extra Punch

*See How They Lie* by Sue Wallman definitely pulled me in right from the start. The pacing is fast, the tension is constant, and the mystery kept me turning the pages late into the night. I was on the edge of my seat, needing to know what was really going on behind the walls of that “perfect” facility.

There’s no doubt it’s an engaging read — suspenseful and unsettling in all the right ways. The twists kept coming, and I genuinely enjoyed piecing everything together.

That said, while the plot kept me hooked, I found myself wanting just a bit more depth, in both the characters and the emotional payoff. It had so much potential to go deeper, but some parts felt a little rushed or surface-level.

Overall, a solid and entertaining YA thriller that’s worth a read if you enjoy fast-moving suspense. Just don’t expect it to linger with you too long after the last page.
