# Bookish Gifts Under €30 for the Reader in Your Life

Gift ideas that readers actually want, from someone who wraps them for a living — all under €30 and posted from Wexford.

Category: Gifts

Buying for a reader is easy to get slightly wrong. Here is what works, in ascending order of thought required.

## Under €10: the small, useful things

Bookmarks that are not a receipt. Sticky tabs for annotating. A book sleeve so paperbacks survive a handbag. Candles are lovely but everyone gives candles.

## Around €20: a book plus something

A single well-chosen pre-loved book with a couple of treats beats a stack of books they will never get to. If you know their genre but not their taste, a surprise scoop of bookish bits fills a gap nicely.

## Around €20 to €30: the surprise route

This is where [blind date with a book](/packages) earns its keep. You answer a short questionnaire about the reader — favourite genres, tropes they love, things to avoid, spice level — and the book arrives wrapped so they open it without knowing the title. It works for people who own too many books, because the fun is the unwrapping.

Pre-loved packages are €20 and brand new are €30, and both come with treats picked to match.

## What to avoid

- **Buying the book everyone is talking about.** They already own it.
- **Sets in a series they are mid-way through.** Editions will not match, and that matters more than you think.
- **Anything that requires shelf space they do not have.**

## The safest thing you can buy

A gift they open, then choose from. If you genuinely cannot guess, a [mystery bundle of three](/shop) in their favourite genre gives them three books and two surprise gifts, and takes the guesswork off you entirely.

Everything is packed and posted from Wexford, and there is a gift option at checkout with a handwritten note if it is going straight to them.
